Just when you thought the world of Marvel Studios couldn’t get any sweeter, Walt Disney Studios announced that the sequel to Captain America: The First Avenger. Set to be released April 4, 2014, the movie will start from the end of Marvel’s The Avengers. Chris Evans will continue as Steve Rogers in his alliance with Nick Fury and S.H.I.E.L.D whilst adjusting to being the hero of today.
This will be Evans’ third movie in his 3-movie deal along with “The Avengers” and “Captain America: The First Avenger”. Also scheduled to return in the sequel is Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Neal McDonough as Dum Dum Dugan. McDonough stated that production would start at the end of this year. As for the director of the film, such possibilities include F. Gary Gray of “The Italian Job”, George Nolfi of “The Adjustment Bureau” and the Russo Brothers, Joe and Anthony, from NBC’s Community.
It is no secret that I am ALL ABOUT the Marvel movies. For the past few years I have anticipated Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, Hulk and the first Captain America movie and I was not disappointed. I am very much looking forward to Marvel’s Avengers and if the hits keep on coming I’m sure the Captain America sequel will be just as awesome. I have been a fan of Chris Evans since Not Another Teen Movie- yeah, I said it- and I think he did a fantastic job in the first Captain America movie. I have high hopes for the film and though it won’t be released for quite some time, I officially can’t wait.
